Doing freelance work sometimes gives one a lot of down time between the jobs, and I’ve taken a bit of a liking to writing.

I’ve always loved stories in their many varied forms – books, comics, music, movies, television, manga (essentially comics), anime (cartoons on TV, or released directly to home video) – but I’ve never gravitated to one particular form or genre. Just whatever grabs and holds my attention.

There have been numerous attempts at writing and drawing my own comic, various aborted stories and until recently, incomplete pieces of work. Finishing something was a major task that was often cast aside for something else. In the attempt to counter that, I set the target of doing a fictional blog – and that lasted a total of five and a half years –  yielding material to fill three novels. I’ve even formatted it out with the hopes of getting them published. In between, I wrote some scripts, worked on three cartoon series – at this time, two of which are out there, the third is in production – and noted a bunch of other ideas. I did a whole bunch of movie reviews, some of which ended up used on a website based out of Singapore.

At least I got some work out there…
So, am I a writer yet?

Well, I’m going to keep going, that’s for sure…

      Hi Franny,
There were three animated series I worked on so far, the first is Sugar Pals. As far as I know, the series is available through an iTunes app (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sugar-pals/id432052201?mt=8&uo=4) where the first episode is free, and the rest can be downloaded via the app.
The second series is CingKus, which I’ve been sharing on my site (look for the Script and Screen titles) as the company lets out each episode over YouTube. I also share my scripts on those posts. The series ran over Nickelodeon Asia. Not sure it it was screened anywhere outside of Asia.
The third is SoccerBugs, which is from the same guys who did CingKus. That’s still in production at this time tho. They’re aiming to have it completed within this year.
