On Sunday night – that’s Easter Sunday – was out for dinner with some friends… and took some photos as well. No, there’s no food shots.
Setting out, I took a shot of this tree in front of my home. The weather has been hot and dry these past few months and the tree has lost many leaves.
In the dying light of the day, the mostly empty branches provided a nice silhouette although I couldn’t back up enough to fit the full tree into the shot. This was the best I could manage, sadly.
Dinner was in this hotel, a trio of traditional Chinese street homes that had been converted into a heritage hotel, albeit with some modern trappings, like this chandelier hanging from the rafters.
They also had air conditioners hidden in the walls and behind air grates, although due to the open air-wells in the middle of the buildings, they weren’t really that effective.
There were also a couple of fountains within the buildings and this one caught my eye…
…simply because of it’s location. There was a series of ‘frames’ around it with this circular passageway that led to it. The image is cropped and filtered with some Instagram filters, so clicking on the image above will take you to the Instagram image. That little dark triangle in the top left corner… It’s a staircase that took up much of the left portion of the original image.
Outside was a neon sign… just had to get a shot of that.
Honestly, I don’t know what it says. I only had one shot before having to get out of the street and head home.
